User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are critical parts of the app experience. Whether is a mobile app or a web app.
How do Websites and Apps get started?
There are two ways that most websites/apps get started. You can pick a template or you can start from scratch. They both have pros and cons but depending on what your goal, it will help you decide what you need. For example you want a simple site that is for your construction business. You only need to have a landing page and a contact, a template will save you time money and will have your website up and running in a jiffy. You have an amazing idea for a mobile app where you will collect information from the user and the user will have likes and followers and interactive maps, a template is not going to be your best bet. Also if you have a high end brand and you need your website to not look like anyone else's website then a template also might not work for you. So in this case we start with a design document to hear about your audience, text and textures that will compliment the feel of your site or app. Is it a app about earth maybe something green with a flowy font and so on.
Starting the UI/UX
There are two different platforms that most designers use to build UI/UX designs. One is Figma and the other is Adobe XD. These two platforms will guide the designer to visualize all the pages that will be needed for the application/website. Not only can the designer put in colors, images and videos to the model but also they can connect the design like is an actual coded pages and the design is able to be clicked on and have different user flows and different user experiences. This model can be given to the client and the client can review before any code is written. This allows for changes to be made in a easier and faster manner that if you start coding first.
Cost?
So... how much will this cost me. Designers typically charge between $1,000 to $10,000 or even more depending on the complexity of the design. Our average cost for a typical website or a simple mobile app is of $2,000. Knowing that the cost for a mobile app it typically at least $20,000 or much more. $2,000 is a valuable key to the puzzle to take to investors and also realize some key pieces of information that you had not thought about when envisioning your app. A UI/UX model is a wise low cost investment.
